Description

Timing

Our online refresher courses will open on the 1st of each month and close on the last day of the month. You must fully complete your course by the end of the month in order to pass. The course will take you 3-4 hours to complete and can be attempted in one sitting or over a period of several days. We ask that you complete all sections of the course within that month; otherwise we cannot pass you and renew your medic training record.

Example 1: If you purchase a course on 15th January, for the January period, you can start this immediately, but you only have until 31st January to complete it, or 16 days.

Example 2: If you purchase a course on 10th January for the February period, you will be able to start the course on 1st February and finish it by 28th February, giving you 28 days to complete it.

Prerequisites and next steps

You must be an existing marine mammal medic in our records. If you trained more than 12 years ago we might not have a record of you in our archives and will contact you directly to discuss. Once you have purchased an online refresher course, you will receive an invitation with a link from iQualify within 48 hours. This link is unique to you. Upon successful completion you will receive an updated certificate and Medic ID card via email and will be updated in our national database for future stranding call-outs. If you do not have a handbook, high-viz vest or stranding cue card, these can be purchased separately.
