Author Biography:

Linda Jane Keegan is a writer and outdoor enthusiast with a background in ecology and environmental education. She is also a volunteer marine mammal medic through Project Jonah and assisted at the mass stranding at Farewell Spit in 2021 which the story is based on. Her previous book Things in the Sea are Touching Me! (Scholastic, 2019) was a 2020 Storylines Notable Book, shortlisted for best children’s book in the 2020 NZ Booklovers Award, and shortlisted for best picture book in the 2019 NZCYA Book Awards. She lives in Golden Bay.
