What We Do

Project Jonah What We Do Protection 2

Project Jonah is a New Zealand charity. Through our work we inspire Kiwis to care for and protect marine mammals and the oceans these animals call home. Our work falls into three key areas:

  • Rescue We deliver essential first aid to stranded or injured animals via our nationwide network of trained and passionate Marine Mammal Medics.
  • Action Through our public education and awareness campaigns we inform and educate people, and encourage them to get involved.
  • Protection We act as a watchdog to expose marine mammal suffering and help create and enforce laws that will protect these animals.

We believe caring about marine mammals and the environment is the right thing to do – so do New Zealanders.

By harnessing this shared passion we can create pressure to bring about change. Join us today, and help us create a safer world for marine mammals.
