Project Jonah Get Involved Volunteer Bucket Collector

As a charity it's vital that we fundraise in the community and raise awareness of our work.  An effective way to do this is to hold regular bucket collections outside supermarkets and stores.  We've launched this programme in Auckland and desperately need your help.  We need collectors in the upcoming weeks.  Can you spare an hour or two before or after work, or during the day?  Please drop us a line if you can help.

Role

Position: Fundraising Collector
Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator 
Time commitment: 2 - 4 hours a month
Task Location: Varies
 

Skills

You'll need the following skills and personality traits:
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Be friendly and outgoing and have good people skills
  • Be able to talk confidentally about Project Jonah's work
  • Be able to follow and adhere to our basic fundraising guidelines
  • Have a current drivers licence and access to a vehicle
  • Be able to prioratise and problem solve and self manage
  • Have access to a cute dog (preferable but not essential)
     

Tasks

A Project Jonah bib and official collector ID badge will be issued to you on the day.  Please wear these at all times.  You will be given a sealed bucket. For security reasons please don’t unseal it or attempt to give change.
  • Report to duty - location and time to be agreed in advance
  • Collect donations and thank donors for their support
  • Talk about our work to those who want to know more
  • Return your collection bucket, bib and ID card to the arranged drop off point as soon as your scheduled collection session is over
